On November 20th, the 10th International (Sanya) Summit Forum on Green Development of the Aluminum Industry Chain 2025, hosted by Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group and Shandong Chuangxin Group, was held in Sanya City, Hainan Province.The forum focuses on industry hot topics such as green and low-carbon development, technological innovation, and international collaboration. It is committed to enhancing domestic and international exchanges and building a global community with a shared future for the aluminum industry.This session of the forum has attracted more than 1,000 guests from over a dozen countries and regions around the world. In his speech, Sun Ximin pointed out that Shandong is accelerating the construction of a pilot zone for green, low-carbon and high-quality development, and concentrating efforts on promoting the aluminum industry to move towards high-end, green and intelligent development. He emphasized that as a major industrial province, Shandong has a solid foundation in the aluminum industry and has formed the world's largest aluminum industry agglomeration area. Currently, guided by the "6997" modern industrial system, Shandong is focusing on breaking through key technologies such as low-carbon and energy-saving smelting through three key measures: innovation-driven development, resource guarantee and main body cultivation. It is also optimizing resource allocation and fostering an industrial ecosystem featuring linkage between upstream and downstream sectors within the industrial chain and coordinated development outside the chain. He stated that Shandong will focus on building a first-class business environment characterized by marketization, rule of law and internationalization to create favorable conditions for enterprises to invest and start businesses in Shandong. He sincerely invited entrepreneurs at home and abroad to visit "Hospitable Shandong, Quality Shandong", actively participate in the development of Shandong's aluminum industry, jointly explore cooperation opportunities, and make new and greater contributions to accelerating the construction of a strong manufacturing country.
Zhao Junmin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Yunnan Province, Delivered a Speech
In his speech, Zhao Junmin pointed out that Yunnan is giving full play to its three major advantages—green and low-carbon development, overlapping policies, and an open location—and accelerating the construction of the "China Green Aluminum Valley". He introduced that relying on its green advantages of a high proportion of clean energy and low carbon emission intensity, as well as the policy dividends from national policy support and the Western Development Strategy, Yunnan has formed an advantage in electrolytic aluminum production capacity scale, with an increasingly complete industrial chain. At the same time, leveraging its geographical advantage of facing South Asia and Southeast Asia, Yunnan is actively integrating into the construction of the International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, opening up broader markets for the green aluminum industry. He stated that Yunnan will adhere to the direction of green development, continuously optimize the business environment, promote the extension of the green aluminum industry towards deep and sophisticated processing, and work with all parties to create a new situation for the high-quality development of the aluminum industry.

In his speech, Meng Xiandong introduced the development status and green transformation practices of the aluminum industry in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Tongliao City. He pointed out that the overall scale of Inner Mongolia's aluminum industry has ranked among the top in China. As a core area for the aluminum industry in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Tongliao City has thoroughly implemented the "dual carbon" goals. Through measures such as complementary wind and solar energy, green power replacement, and ultra-low emission transformation, it has continuously improved its green production capacity, laying a solid foundation for the green and low-carbon development of the industry. He stated that Inner Mongolia will actively leverage the platform of this forum to learn advanced experience, carry out practical cooperation, jointly explore new paths for the transformation and upgrading of the aluminum industry with guests from all walks of life, and work together to promote the high-quality development of the industry.

In his speech, Zhang Bo extended a warm welcome and sincere thanks to the guests attending the forum. He stated that against the backdrop of profound changes in the current global economic situation, the aluminum industry is not only facing new opportunities brought by growing demand but also confronting challenges such as resource and environmental constraints as well as international trade barriers. Under such circumstances, only by building a more resilient green industrial chain and supply chain can the industry achieve higher-quality development.He introduced that Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group will closely align with the guidance of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and focus on the three key directions of "intelligentization, greenization, and integration" to continuously advance industrial transformation and upgrading. Zhang Hai, Dean of Weiqiao Lightweight Research Institute, Released Scientific and Technological Achievements
As a key segment of this opening ceremony, Zhang Hai, Dean of Weiqiao Lightweight Research Institute, officially released the major scientific and technological achievements of Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group in the aluminum alloy field on-site. This release systematically presented 5 types of key new materials, 4 types of green and low-carbon alloy materials, 5 newly registered alloy designations, and 3 key core technologies.This series of scientific and technological achievements represents a breakthrough progress made by Weiqiao in the R&D of new aluminum alloy materials. In the future, they will facilitate the wider application of aluminum-based new materials in fields such as new energy vehicles and aerospace, further consolidating Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group’s leading position in the lightweight technology field. Fan Shunke, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, Delivered a Report
During the thematic report session, Fan Shunke delivered a report titled Upholding Fundamental Principles and Promoting Innovation to Blueprint a New Chapter for the High-Quality Development of China’s Aluminum Industry During the “14th Five-Year Plan” Period.He conducted a comprehensive analysis of the remarkable achievements made by China’s aluminum industry during the “13th Five-Year Plan” period, pointing out that a modern aluminum industry system has been fully established. Specifically, the industrial structure has been continuously optimized, independent innovation capabilities have been significantly enhanced, the level of technological equipment has ranked among the world’s forefront, green and low-carbon development has been accelerated, the global layout has been continuously expanded, and the integration of industry and finance has been further deepened—presenting an overall stable and positive development trend.At the same time, he also conducted an in-depth analysis of the “four major challenges” facing the industry: insufficient domestic resource guarantees, a complex foreign trade environment, a gradual peak in consumption, and fierce competition in the aluminum processing field. He also identified “six major opportunities”: empowerment through independent innovation, green and low-carbon transformation, resource recycling and utilization, the development of emerging industries, the new dual-circulation pattern, and national policy support.On this basis, Fan Shunke proposed that during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, efforts should be focused on advancing the high-quality development of the aluminum industry through nine key pathways, including strengthening resource guarantees, developing characteristic materials, enhancing the competitiveness of intermediate links, deepening green and low-carbon transformation, boosting independent innovation, expanding traditional and emerging applications, strictly adhering to the bottom line of safety and environmental protection, deepening the integration of industry and finance, and strengthening industry self-regulation.He emphasized that the aluminum industry still holds great promise, and all stakeholders should strengthen confidence, make scientific plans, and promote China’s aluminum industry to achieve higher-quality and higher-level development.
Xu Xianming, Member of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress, Deputy Director of the Supervisory and Judicial Committee, and Director of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Law Majors in Institutions of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, delivered a thematic report.
In his thematic report, Xu Xianming elaborated on the core essence and practical requirements of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law from the perspective of national governance and the construction of the rule of law. The report provided new perspectives and insights for the participants and evoked a lively response.
During the forum, two thematic sub-forums were held. At the "Aluminum Industry Development Sub-forum", experts and scholars from fields such as energy, electrolytic aluminum, and securities research delivered brilliant speeches focusing on topics including industrial policy guidance, the new "coal-new energy-electricity-aluminum" circular economy model, and the global aluminum market supply-demand pattern. At the "New Energy Vehicles and Lightweight Technology Sub-forum", a number of guests shared their insights on themes such as the current status and trends of the new energy vehicle industry, intelligent connected technologies, and the application of new materials.Both sub-forums featured rich content: they not only presented a macroscopic perspective on the coordinated development of the aluminum industrial chain but also closely aligned with the technological trends of intelligentization and lightweighting, offering a feast of ideas for all participants.
Before the forum kicked off, the attending leaders also visited and learned about the competitive products of Weiqiao's new energy vehicle sector on-site, including new energy passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles such as the 212 off-road vehicle, Jishi 01, Ruisheng Ace MPV, Xin V80, and Leichi Automobiles, as well as lightweight auto parts and skateboard chassis. During the forum, various forms of business negotiations and matching activities will also be held.
Also attending the forum were government leaders from Shandong, Yunnan, Inner Mongolia and other regions, responsible comrades from relevant industry associations, as well as experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from industries such as the aluminum industrial chain and new energy vehicles.
